Ain't no mountain high enough...

Mobile technology solutions keep you in touch with your world, no matter where life or business takes you. Just ask David Thomas of Bluegrass Computer Services. He recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa to raise money for the children's charity Sparks. Taurus sponsored his efforts, and we provided the iPhones that kept David and wife Hilary in touch with friends, family and work throughout his trip.

"We took an iPhone each as well as solar chargers," David says. "We were able to make phone calls to family from the summit of Kilimanjaro, which is quite incredible. The signal had been patchy, but I was alerted to the fact that we had a signal at the top, when I got an automated text message from our servers back at work."

One of the servers at Bluegrass, an IT support company, had been rebooted, and the automated message made David's phone bleep an alert. "It was good timing," David says.

He used the iPhone to send emails, make calls, and send updates for an online diary about the trip, available on the web at: http://www.davidthomas.uk.com/.

"I also updated my Twitter account, and sent reports through for others at home to add updates on my behalf. I also sent through photos, and used the iPhone to record a personal voice diary," David says.

David and Hilary raised £10,000 for Sparks through the trip.

"We're very grateful to everyone who sponsored us, and very thankful to Taurus for the investment they made," he adds.
